Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some FAQs.
What is an ESV?
ESV is the acronym for "Electric Stand-up Vehicle". T3 Motion manufactures two ESVs--the original iconic T3 Patroller, launched in 2006, and the narrower-width T3 Vision, launched in 2014. Both are purpose-designed and built for professional applications for the Law Enforcement, Military, and Security sectors.
What is the Range of a T3 Patroller and T3 Vision?
Technically, they're unlimited. Both the T3 Patroller and T3 Vision have unlimited range possibilities due to the patented revolutionary interchangeable "hot swap" battery system. With the use of a second set of batteries, both vehicles are capable of multi-shift, around-the-clock operation. What's more, the supplied charger can charge batteries on- or off-board. There's no need to purchase a costly additional off-board charger (unlike another ESV in the marketplace currently). And finally, if you have a mixed fleet of T3 Patrollers and T3 Visions, both battery styles can be charged from the same standard charger. This is especially helpful when both vehicles are being deployed at the same time.
Does the T3 Patroller and T3 Vision come with suspensions?
Yes. The T3 Patroller has three models--the "Elite", which features a full Front + Rear coil suspension, the "Premium", which features a Front suspension, and the original "Standard", which is a rigid chassis design. The T3 Vision comes standard with a Front suspension. Most importantly, both vehicles are equipped with the industry-best Rider's Mats (military-grade high-compression rubber) for comfort and shock absorption.
Can the Top Speed on a T3 Patroller and T3 Vision be changed?
Yes. Both the T3 Patroller and T3 Vision can be "Supervisor set". The T3 Patroller can be locked into speed maximums of 5, 8, 10, 12 mph (8, 12, 16, 19 km/h) or Full Speed. The T3 Vision can be locked into speed maximums of 5, 8, 10 mph (8, 12, 16 km/h) or Full Speed. For more information on how to set the Speed increments on either vehicle, please email .
Is the Headlight on the T3 Patroller vertically-adjustable?
Yes. The T3 Patroller offers the ONLY vertically-adjustable headlight in the ESV market. This invaluable tool is ideal for night time patrol environments and is the equivalent of three SL-20 Streamlights. Whether the need is lighting up a multi-story structure or looking into a vehicle, the T3 Patroller vertically-adjustable LED headlight is the best in the industry.
What is Cargo Capacity of a T3 Patroller and T3 Vision?
The T3 Patroller has a cargo capacity of 450 pounds / 204 kg. The T3 Vision has a cargo capacity of 300 pounds / 136 kg.
What is the Curb Clearance of a T3 Patroller?
The T3 Patroller can easily ascend or descend a standard 9-inch / 22.9 cm curb.
Can an older T3 Patroller be upgraded?
Yes. Due to the compartmentalized design of the T3 Patroller, it is easy to upgrade or replace parts. In fact, EV Patrol now offers existing T3 Patroller customers the cost-effective "T3 Patroller Refurbishment Program" where older T3s can easily be brought up to current model year standards. For more information on the T3 Patroller Refurb program, please email email@example.com.
Does the T3 Patroller come with Reverse?
Yes. The "Elite" model of the T3 Patroller comes standard with Reverse and is an option for the "Premium" and "Standard" models. Due to the less than zero-degree turning radius, a Reverse gear is not necessary when the vehicle is operated correctly. The T3 Patroller is agile enough to drive forward into a standard 6-foot / 1.8 m wide elevator, U-turn, and then drive back out forward.
Does the T3 Patroller come with Turn Indicators/Hazard Lights?
Yes. The new T3 Patroller comes standard with Front + Rear Turn Indicators (which can be used as Hazard Lights). This feature is ideal for T3 Patrollers that are deployed in Parking Lots/Structures and Streets.
What Voltage is needed to charge a T3 Patroller and T3 Vision?
All that is needed is a standard 110V outlet. The smart charger is designed for use with 110 and 220V systems, depending on the location of the customer (Domestic U.S. vs. International). The smart charger will automatically stop charging upon completion of the charging cycle and will not overcharge the batteries.
Why do T3 Patrollers and T3 Visions come with two batteries?
Batteries on any electric vehicle are typically one of the heaviest components. EV Patrol interchangeable battery systems splits the battery into two separate modules for both the T3 Patroller and T3 Vision. This reduces the potential for injuries sustained while removing and replacing the batteries. Both battery modules run concurrently for maximum range and recharge lifespan.
